Restoring Nature with Green Cover

The nature campaign of Dera Sacha Sauda is not just speaking up for trees but standing by them. We get all sorts of environmental benefits from these leafy friends. Trees are contemplated as the lungs of the earth, the more trees we plant, the more easily our Mother Earth breaths. As a consequence, we get clean air to breathe, decreased soil erosion, offset carbon emissions and give food & life to many species.

So, to restore the environment, Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers have planted more than 4 crore trees so far and successfully nurtured them as well. They take care of them as their own children and around 75% of total planted trees are flourishing & proving as the biggest investment to Mother Earth.

Alongside this, millions of these volunteers have pledged to plant at least two plants every month, which is surely making a drastic change. 4 world records are also bagged by this organization by planting maximum trees across the globe in a single time. It is rather an applauding task by them to keep our Mother Earth breathing.

Break the Cycle: Give up Plastic Usage

Every minute, around 1 million plastic drinking bottles and 5 trillion plastic bags are used by people all around the world. Surprised?

It goes without saying that we humans are addicted to plastic and do not want to resort to any other option. However, on one clarion call of Baba Ram Rahim, his millions of followers have shunned the use of plastic. They have resorted to jute or cloth bags instead of plastic bags. You can also make an impact by pledging today not to use plastic anymore in any shape. It's important to break this cycle if we want to conserve our Mother Earth in the real sense.

Hosting Cleanliness Drives

Spreading litter and mistreating the earth is always disastrous for every living being. The toxins and contaminants choke the breathing system and bring unfavorable results. So, to stop it and tackle the pollution in a better way, cleanliness campaigns have been initiated by Saint Dr. MSG. In this, the volunteers clean a complete city within some hours and make it free from litter & diseases altogether. The outcomes of these campaigns have been wondrous. The rate of dengue, malaria, and alike diseases fell in those cities and the air quality got improved, thereby the graph for respiratory diseases also diseased drastically. 34 mega cleanliness drives have been conducted by Dera Sacha Sauda so far.

Mitigate Air Pollution by Stopping Stubble Burning

Stubble burning undoubtedly gives quick rise to air pollution, thereby innumerable diseases get an unnecessary hike. His Holiness urged all to stop doing as it reduces the soil fertility and enhances air pollution manifold. By following His words, millions pledged for the same. Now Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers do not do stubble burning, instead use the leftovers as fodder for animals. This step is surely saving Mother Earth.

Water Conservation Tactics

With water conservation, we can reverse climate change also. Even small contribution matters. With the aim to conserve this natural resource of Mother Earth, Saint Dr. MSG has given many pro-tips to save water and millions of Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers have pledged for the same. Turning off the water while brushing teeth & washing dishes, instead of using a glass or container for the same so that more water can be saved. Use a bucket instead of a shower while taking a bath. Harvest rainwater and utilize it for plantation & growing veggies. Reuse water to wash the vegetables. Save the water used for bathing by making a pit under drainage and putting gravel, sand & concrete layers, which will filter the water and you can use it to grow vegetables. Many other tips have been given by His Holiness that is proving as a boon to conserving the earth.

Use Energy Wisely

With some changes in our habits, we can conserve energy as well. As suggested by Guruji, the followers turn off the bulb or light when not in use to save energy. Solar panels are a great source of lowering carbon dioxide emissions, thereby saving energy to a large extent. Even to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, a massive biogas plant has been installed in Dera premises that are saving water & energy wondrously.

Birds Nurturing- To Stabilize Ecosystem

Birds are nature’s gifts and are an important part of the ecosystem. These lovely creatures of our Mother earth need protection and by saving them, we are conserving our planet too. To save these gifts of nature, the Birds Nurturing campaign has been initiated by Guruji whereby the volunteers keep feed and water for the birds in public places and on their homes’ roofs & balconies.

Even they start their day by doing this practice and giving the best contribution to the restoration of our mother earth by stabilizing the ecosystem.

Animal Welfare

Mother Earth gives birth to all creatures and it’s our duty as human beings to save these creatures from extinction. Under the animal welfare initiative, Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers are saving these animals from slaughter houses which are otherwise killed just for the taste of tongue. The violence against these innocent creatures is stopped by volunteers with the inspiration & guidance of Saint Dr. MSG. around 65 million followers have shifted to a plant-based diet and pledged to never kill animals for such greed or any other purposes. Moreover, the stray animals are provided water and fodder from time to time to save their lives. It's indeed an appreciable work to save the ecosystem of earth and salvage the mother earth’s creatures.  

Trash in Dustbin

Every day is our cleanliness campaign. It's not just one day that Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers keep the surroundings clean, but every day every moment, the litter is disposed of well. They don’t throw garbage anywhere, instead use trash bins to throw it and keep the environment healthy and clean always.

Environmental Conservation Volunteering aims to raise a generation of young minds that our planet is in dire need of who can make a conscious choice to mitigate Climate Change and promote environmental conservation.
